amanda hoffpauir, d.v.m.

Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Dr. Hoffpauir got her start as a kennel assistant and dog bather at Acadiana Veterinary Clinic. Her strong work ethic and dedication helped her to quickly advance to the position of veterinary assistant. To put herself through college, she took a second job at the Lafayette Animal Emergency Clinic where she gained a strong foundation in emergency medicine. Working overtime and attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, she attained the prerequisites necessary for acceptance into veterinary school. Dr. Hoffpauir then attended the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine where she concentrated in reproduction and equine medicine. Upon her graduation in May of 2003, she obtained a position in a private mixed animal practice working with animals of all types during the day and taking emergency calls at night. August 8th 2005, Dr. Hoffpauir became the proud owner of Alvin Animal Clinic in Alvin, Texas.
Dr. Hoffpauir’s vision is to create a modern, progressive facility to provide affordable, quality medicine for pets in the Alvin area. She focuses on preventative medicine and client education to address problems before they arrive.
Her belief is that every animal is a unique individual and should be treated as such. At home, she has three very unique four footed individuals that share her off hours: Hank, a brilliant beagle mix dog, Chai, a very confident domestic shorthair brown tabby cat, and Scabby (named for a bout of kittenhood ringworm) a voracious tuxedo domestic longhair cat.
When she can escape for a day or two, she likes to go hiking with her husband, Chris and her dog, Hank.
